Are you an aspiring golfer looking for a non-competitive environment where you can learn how to play golf, improve your game, and socialize?
You're invited to join The Poco Diablo Naughty Niner Golf Group. We are a group of men and women golfers who get together twice a month to play golf and socialize in a non-competitive environment for two hours late in the day when the course is not busy. The only requirement necessary to become a member is to commit to having a good time! Poco Diablo is a nine-hole executive length golf course. It’s the perfect place to learn to play golf, or for experienced golfers to work on their short game. The holes are all less than 120 yards in length.
The event lasts for two hours and starts out with a 45 minute golf clinic (each week a different topic). After the clinic, we proceed to the golf course and play golf for the remainder of the time. Paula Hicks, an LPGA teaching professional, roams around the course and gives players tips on how to improve their swings, the rules, etiquette, specialty shots, and course management. For some of us, the best part of the day is when play is over and we head to T. Carl’s for happy hour! The format of play is loosely structured. This means that if you don't like a particular shot, you may drop another ball! You’re allowed eight shots from the tee to the green after which you pick up your ball and place it on the green where you are allowed four putts.
If you are just learning the game or have been playing awhile and just want to improve, this is a perfect environment for you. All players are grouped with others who play at the same level. You do not have to keep score unless you want to!
Poco is a walking course only
